Mōfo Whë Kez (/ˈmoːfo/ /whɛ/ [cheap] [credit (recognition)]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Wǟlwu Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Mōfo Whë Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Mōfo Whë Kez was founded by Iovail Zamezat, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Mōfo Whë Kez has a yearly average temperature of 12°C (53°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -5°C (23°F). Mōfo Whë Kez receives an average of 158 cm/y (62 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Mōfo Whë Kez covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3712 m (12178 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mōfo Whë Kez was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1393, by Iovail Zamezat. The establishment of Mōfo Whë Kez was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Iovail Zamezat struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Mōfo Whë Kez as a prison colony.

Mōfo Whë Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mōfo Whë Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Mōfo Whë Kez is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow flagstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. Unfortuantly, these failry decent fortifications are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around Mōfo Whë Kez gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Mōfo Whë Kez brings to mind.

Civic Infrastructure

Mōfo Whë Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Mōfo Whë Kez. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Mōfo Whë Kez's parks.

Mōfo Whë Kez has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Mōfo Whë Kez's natural decorations nor waterways.

Mōfo Whë Kez has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Mōfo Whë Kez has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

One or more crime bosses have a powerful influence within Mōfo Whë Kez. They may control crime within the community itself, or they may use it simply as a safe haven from which to direct their minions elsewhere. Local law enforcement may know all about them, but lack the strength to confront them and their paid or intimidated henchmen.

Mōfo Whë Kez's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
